Last week 2nd grade REACH students in Ms. Robinson and Mrs. Deyamport's classes had a very special call with their 1st grade teacher, Mrs. Velichkovski! She is now living and teaching in Belgrade, Serbia at an international school. We talked about how much we miss her and asked her questions about her school, students, and life in Serbia.
Have a look at us singing along to, "Make New Friends."
After the call, our 2nd graders posted some questions for Mrs. V. on our class blog. We were excited to see that she replied to us! Here are some questions we asked (Mrs. V.'s replies are in red):
1. I saw flowers and other things on the wall. Did you let your students draw those? (Max)
Yes, the students wrote poems and we glued them to hot air balloons that they colored themselves. But mostly, they do art during their art class on Wednesdays with a real art teacher.
2. How big is your classroom? (Micah)
It is very small. I imagine it was a bedroom when someone lived there before, approximately 15 feet by 15 feet.
3. What are your students' favorite foods? (Lisa)
One thing they love a lot is Nutella, a cream that is made from chocolate and hazlenuts. They spread it on bread, which sounds strange, but is nice once you get used to it.
We had a great time chatting with Mrs. Velichkovski and her students! A special thanks goes out to Ms. Robinson for arranging this call. If you would like to view the blog post on our call, click here.
