Mr. Adam Roberts, from BancorpSouth, visited Mrs. Rouse's first grade classroom for "A Banker in Every Classroom" week in November. Mr. Roberts read a story to the class that explained the importance of saving money. After the story, he gave the class five pennies and allowed the children to purchase different items from him. The first item was a pencil for 2 cents, the second item was an eraser for 2 cents, and the third item was a pair of sunglasses for 5 cents. This engaging lesson taught students the importance of saving.
